THANK YOU to everyone who supported this year’s VBS: Shipwrecked – Rescued by Jesus
During the week of August 13 to 17, our Church building was transformed into a Tropical Island and undersea paradise, full of experiments, fun and excitement; a place where children learned that when you‘re lonely, when you worry, when you struggle, when you do wrong or when you‘re powerless, JESUS RESCUES!
Our Operation-Kid-to-Kid outreach mission was a key part of Shipwrecked VBS. This year our Kid-to-Kid Ministry supported Kids Helping Kids Fund at the Anglican Foundation of Canada. The donations collected to date (from those attending VBS – volunteers and campers, as well as generous donations from our congregation) now total just over $1,200 for this wonderful ministry. Each $20 donated allows us to acquire a “Hope Bear”. These bears have been donated to the Peel Paramedics towards their Christmas toy drive. Each Hope Bear comes with a favourite Bible verse: “May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace”, a note from one of the campers attending VBS and (new this year) a wrap or hat from our Hug Ministry group. Money donated to the Kids Helping Kids fund at the Anglican Foundation supports children all across the country through activities such as: choir schools and summer camps, Breakfast programs, After-school homework clubs and Palliative care for children.
Again, THANK YOU to our volunteers, donors and families who participated. Your support made VBS a wonderful experience for everyone.
