Lent is a time we are called to enter into prayer and reflection about our relationship with God, and our relationship with each other and ourselves. This year we will gather in community using a conference call every Thursday starting March 7th through April 11th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm to allow more of our congregation to participate. Please REGISTER on Eventbrite to take part in this free event.
We will read the book “Forgiveness: The Fourfold Path for Healing Ourselves and Our World” by Desmond Tutu for this year’s St. Thomas à Becket Lent Series.
We will explore the four steps to forgiving which leads to healing of ourselves and our world. Each of us has a deep need to forgive, and to be forgiven. Even if we feel we have no one or no thing in our life which we need to forgive at this moment, Desmond Tutu’s wisdom will help open our hearts and souls to a path of forgiveness for the future, freeing ourselves of the endless and unyielding cycle of pain and retribution which is otherwise too often our reality
We will walk together through the 4 steps to forgiveness: admitting the wrong and acknowledging the harm; telling one’s story and witnessing the anguish; asking for forgiveness and granting forgiveness, and renewing or releasing the relationship.
You can order the book online, or pick it up at your local book.
